| 《左传》中载录的人物数量很多，且类型各异。但编者对这些人物并非一视同仁，而是呈现出多元的形态。其中有几处做法值得特别关注，即显性人物的隐性处理和隐性人物的显性呈现。显性人物是指那些在历史上实有其人且地位显赫者，隐性人物是指那些历史上并不存在或者名位不显者。显性呈现，是指人物的事迹得到了详尽的记录；隐性处理，是指人物的事迹被有意地删减或者隐瞒。《左传》人物或"显"或"隐"的呈现，虽然没有虚构事实，但却改变了事件的形态，因而体现出鲜明的主观色彩，这是编者刻意选择的结果。这种选择使人物个性突出，事件倾向性明显，这正是《左传》是解经之传而非史书的明证。 |

| There are various kinds of characters in Tso-chuan. But the author of Tso-chuan did not make no exception to them. It is a remarkable fact that some famous figures had been characterized covertly while some ordinary people overtly. In this way, some people would be foregrounded while some people backgrounded.Through the overt or covertcharacterization, the author intentionally changed the impact of some historical events without fiction. In fact, this is the evidence that showsTso-chuan is a very important book to Chun-qiu, rather than an independent history book. |
