| As a controversial work in contemporary Russia, Mr. Black Explosive by Prokhnov has triggered huge argument in the critics after its publication. Generally speaking, it is a politically-oriented rather aesthetically-based novel with its great success owing to the concerted efforts of a group of young literary critics and to the promotion of contemporary Russian commercial capital. This incident has contributed to the debate between the Russian patriots and the liberals in the new situation. Mr. Black Explosive can be good example to examine contemporary Russian literary criticism. |
