| 明清以来，江南典当业在相对良好的外部环境和较完善的内部控制机制作用下，建立了较为有效的风险防控机制，保障了典当业长期的稳定经营。20世纪三十年代以后，江南典当业面临集体性经营困难，根本原因在于遇到前所未有的外源性风险和系统性风险，导致传统的风险防范体系失效，最终导致江南典当业走向衰落。 |

| The effective risk prevention system in the pawn industry of Jiangnan was established to safeguard the stable and long-term development under the sound external business environment and internal control mechanism since Ming and Qing Dynasty. In 1930s, owing to unprecedented external and systemic internal risk, pawn industry in Jiangnan faced great difficulties in the business. In addition, the loss of effectiveness of its risk prevention system led to the declining of the pawn industry in Jiangnan. |
