| 自18世纪初以来，学术界对于英语民族史上第一部完整的圣经英译本——《威克利夫圣经》的研究已历300年之久。20世纪以前，人们对该译本的研究主要体现在威克利夫传记类作品中，研究者注重威克利夫作为神学家和宗教改革家的身份，强调的是译本的宗教意义。进入20世纪，威克利夫及其圣经翻译受到了学界更多的关注，也把《威克利夫圣经》研究推向了深入。新时期，学者们不仅普遍意识到该译本同英语语言文学之间的密切关系，并且从不同的角度对此做了初步的探索。然而，对《威克利夫圣经》300年学术史的梳理清楚地表明，国内外知识界对于该译本的研究视野，特别是文学语境中的探索，还存有明显的缺憾，该译本对英国后世圣经翻译及它在英语语言和英国文学发展方面所发挥的具体作用尚缺少全面而系统的探究与论证。 |

| Since the early 18th century, the study of the first complete English version of the Bible-the Wycliffite Bible has lasted for 300 years. Before the 20th century, the study of the Wycliffite Bible was usually included in biographies of John Wyclif, emphasizing his status as theologian and reformer, and hence the religious significance of the version. From the 20th century, Wyclif and his bible absorb more attention of scholars so that the study of the Wycliffite Bible has been pushed forward. In the new period, researchers have generally realized the relation between the Wycliffite Bible and the English language and literature, and made preliminary researches from various angles. However, the literary review of the Wycliffite Bible studies in 300 years has clearly shown the lack of a systematic study of this version in the literary context, so that such questions as how it influenced the later English biblical versions and what concrete roles it has played in the development of English language and literature are still in need of further examination and explanation. |
