| 唐宋变革论深刻影响并推进了20世纪的唐宋史研究。关于唐宋变革的原因，学者从政治、经济、军事、思想文化等多个角度进行了阐述。林文勋先生则突出了商品经济的作用，他将商品经济上升到历史哲学的高度，认为商品经济的发展促使了唐宋社会的大变革，并提出了富民社会这一学术概念，将中国古代社会的历史变迁阶段总结为从上古三代的"部族社会"发展为汉唐的"豪民社会"，再演变为唐宋元明清的"富民社会"，并最终向着"市民社会"发展。 |

| The theory of Tang-and-Song transformation brings a profound influence on the study of the history of Tang and Song dynasty in the 20th century. While other scholars attempt to explore reasons of Tang-Song transformation in politics, economy, military science, and ideology and culture, Lin Wenxun gives more attention to commodity economy. He discusses the commodity economy from the perspective of philosophy of history and argues that it is development of commodity economy that results in the social transformation in Tang and Song dynasty. And then, he puts forward the concept of the rich society. He argues that the ancient Chinese society changed from the "tribe society" in Xia-and-Shang-and-Zhou dynasties to the "bully society" in Han-and-Tang dynasty, to the "rich society" in Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties and then to the "civil society" in future. |
