与其他近代哲学家一样,谭嗣同并非专职教师或教育工作者,而是主张变法维新的启蒙思想家和参与戊戌维新的政治家。因此,谭嗣同所面对的教育对象除了特定的学生——如长沙时务学堂的学员外,更多的是中国的广大民众。这决定了谭嗣同所讲的教育是普及的,其中不仅包括教育内容,而且包括教育途径。谭嗣同青睐的学会、报纸等渠道不仅极大地推动了教育普及,而且尽显近代教育的时代特征。 |

Like other philosophers in early modern Chinese history, Tan Shitong meditated on the question of education through the mind of an enlightenment thinker and reform politician, in stead of a professional teacher of education practitioner. Thus, in Tan Shitong's view, the target of education includes not only students, like those in the Changsha Shiwu School, but also mass people in China. In this consideration, what Tan means is education popular in contents and in approaches. The channels for education favored by Tan, such as academic society and newspaper, greatly put forward the education popularization, which show features of modern education. |
