      杜国庠提出文艺大众化问题既是中国革命和文艺形势发展的客观推动,也是当时革命文学的勃兴对革命文艺理论建设的迫切需求的结果。他对卢那察尔斯基、藏原惟人、拍高根等人的理论译介活动,也促使他较早地认识到了进行中国马克思主义文艺大众化建设的重要性。杜国庠在《1929年急待解决的几个关于文艺的问题》中主要从文艺大众化的根本目标、阶级意识的获得、文艺内容与形式的结合,以及作家与文艺大众的关系等六个方面,较为全面地论述了文艺大众化的理论和实践策略。杜国庠等人的理论建设构成了文艺大众化问题结构中的马克思主义学者型批评话语,而在一定程度上有别于毛泽东、周扬为代表的政治型批评话语。杜国庠的理论译介工作,以及他对马克思主义文艺大众化问题的深刻思考,构成了我们理解和反思中国马克思主义文艺大众化问题不可缺失的一环。
英文摘要:
      According to Du Guoxiang, literature and art popularization in China is a result propelled by Chinese revolutionary situation and literary movement, and also an reaction to the urgent need of revolutionary theoretical frameworks arisen from the thriving revolutionary literature practices. His introduction of the theories of Anatoly Lunacharsky Kurahara Korehito and Mikhail Pagorkan drove him to the awareness of importance of popularizing Chinese Marxist art in very early years. In his article "Certain Urgent Problem in Literature and Arts in 1929", he comprehensively elaborates the theories and practice strategies for popularization of literature and arts and discusses them in six aspects, namely, the fundamental goals of the popularization, source of class consciousness, combination of literary contents and forms, as well as the relationship between writers and mass audience. Such theoretical constructions form a scholastic type of Marxist critical discourse on popularization of literature and arts, which is to certain extent different from the political type of discourse as represented by Mao Zedong and Zhou Yang. Du Guoxiang's theoretical introduction and his meditations on the popularization question make up an indispensable section for our understanding and reflection on the question of Marxist popularization of literature and arts in China.
