| 二次世界大战后，关于现代性及其结果的争论主要集中在两个方面：一、现代性的局限是什么？二、现代性之后的社会应当是怎样？因界定现代性的代表性特征本身就是多维的，故问题一的答案具有暧昧性。对于问题二，哲学家和社会科学家倾向于用“后现代性”或“后现代主义”来指称现代性之后的社会思潮。后现代性体现了对现代性及其根源的批判，但并不完全意味着一种启蒙理性的终结，而是一种希望能够废弃理性所产生的等级制和统一化，从而实现现代性与后现代性相和解的反思。 |

| Since World WarⅡ,debate on modernity and its results have been mainly concentrated on two aspects:1.What is the limit of modernity? 2.What should the society be after modernity? As definitions of the representative features of modernity themselves are multidimentional,keys to these two questions are ambiguous.For the second question,philosophers and social scientists tend to employ postmodernity or postmodernism to refer to the social trend after modernity. Postmodernity embodies the criticism to modernity and its roots,but does not mean an end of Enlightenment Rationalism. It is a hope that the graded system and unification brought about by rationality can be abandoned so as to achieve a reflection of reconciliation between modernity and postmodernity. |
