| 贯穿汉学家高罗佩一生的主要事业就是对中国文化的研究与传播。对中国的痴爱使得他的涉猎范围包括琴、砚、书、画、马、猿、春宫与悉昙等, 而狄公案小说、琴道和性学这三方面的研究则是他关注的核心。这些研究都依赖于他个人对中国道家与道教思想的释解与想象。狄公案小说的铺陈凸显了他对道家与道教因素的叠加, 琴道的梳理凸显了他对中国古代知识分子养心主旨的发掘, 阴阳之道的考证则是他对中国古人养生思想的考量。但是这些释解都存在着诸多的细节失误。 |

| Robert Hans van Gulik is a life-long practitioner in study and dissemination of Chinese culture. His love of China drives him into explorations of Chinese lute, inkslab, calligraphy, drawings, horses, apes, pornograffiti and siddham. The stories of Judge Dee, Chinese lute arts and sex studies are kernels of his focus. Those studies rely on his personal interpretation and imagination of Chinese Taoism and Taoist thoughts. The descriptions in the stories of Judge Dee highlights his integration of Taoism and Taoist elements; the exploration of lute arts reflects his evacuation of ancient Chinese intellectual's mentality-culturing ideas; the probing into the matters between men and women indicates his consideration of ancient Chinese people's life-prolonging practices. However, in his interpretations there are numbers of mistakes of details. |
