| For anthology compilers, selection of poems and its purpose is the prior question. The compilers in Qing Dynasty worked against the poetic thoughts in Ming Dynasty which extremely praises poetry of Tang Dynasty and undervalues those in Song Dynasties. Their anthology of Song poems is aimed to give Song poems their due praise, display the merits of the poems, correct the overvalues of Tang poems and undermine the boundary between Tang and Song poems. |
