| This paper is an analysis of Su Manshu＇s motives and strategies in translating Les Miserables in perspective of Pierre Bourdieu;s sociological theory, particularly his core concepts of field and habitus. Its is argued that the social and historical situations then as well as the translator＇s individuality and values brought about the translated text as well as the translating style. |
