| 年轻的欧阳修被贬夷陵县令虽然不足两年，却成为其人生辉煌事业的节点和文学创作的丰收期：“庐陵事业起夷陵”。在其现存七百多首（篇）诗文作品中，直接记述夷陵和提及夷陵的诗文竞达百首（篇）。欧阳修描写夷陵的诗文不仅详尽地记录了北宋时期夷陵地区以农业为主、农商兼营的经济格局和风光绝美、林木丰茂的山川名胜，还真实地记述了夷陵人民自由奔放的天性和朴野的巴楚民风，具有不可忽略的历史价值和文学价值，是一笔珍贵的文化遗产，对于欧学研究和宜昌历史文化研究都有着重要的意义。 |

| Though young Ouyang Xiu stayed in Yiling for only two years as a demoted official, the period turned to be a time of literary harvest and a turning point for his political career glory. Among Ouyang Xiu＇s more than 700 existent literary pieces, some 100 are about or related to Yiling. His descriptions of Yiling contain not only details of local agriculture-dominant economic pattern in Northern Song Dynasty, the beantiful scenery and resorts, but also genuine records of Yiling people＇s outgoing passionate nature and true, plain customs. Those works are valuable cultural heritage of innegligible historical and literary significance. They are very important both to Ouyang Xiu studies and the Yichang history and culture studies. |
