      辛亥革命的理论家章太炎提出了"竞争生智慧"的观点,但是,竞争究竟能不能生智慧?如果能,是在什么意义上能?如果不能,又是为什么?对于这些问题,我们似乎还欠思量。章氏哲学对人性之恶的肯定赋予了竞争以合法性,但是,其所具有的相对主义倾向又使得竞争最终成为了多余之物。从另一个角度看,如果将竞争解释成实践,"竞争生智慧"的意思是说主体在改变世界的过程中改变自己,从而获得智慧。但是,由于章氏在认识论、方法论上走向了怀疑论,在政治哲学上走向了唯我论,所以他不能够提供成功改变世界所需要的理论和工具,最终导致"竞争生智慧"走向了唯意志论而自我消解。这从一个侧面解释了辛亥革命的失败,又暗示了中国现代性诞生的步履维艰。
英文摘要:
      " Competition yielding wisdom" is an idea put forward by Zhang Taiyan, the famous theorist for 1911 Revolution. To this idea, we have much to think about: is it so? If yes, to what sense'? If not, why not? Zhang's philosophy affirms the evil in personality which valid the competition; however, his relativist preference overthrows competition as something useless and repetitious. In another perspective, provided competition is interpreted as practice, "competition yielding wisdoms" will suggest that the subject changes of the world. But, as Zhang Taiyan himself and thus acquires wisdom in the process of his change ultimately holds skepticism in epistemology and methodology and solipsism in political philosophy, he is not able to provide the theories and instruments necessary for a successful change of the world, which leads the idea of " competition yielding wisdoms" to voluntarism and finally to its deconstruction. This is a side explanation why the 1911 Revolution finally failed, and also a signal of the difficulties in origin of Modernity in China.
